How Long Does It Generally Take To Receive Skin Biopsy Results

It generally takes 3-5 working days following the biopsy or procedure to have preliminary test results for discussion. On occasion, biopsy specimens will need to be sent out for a second opinion or special stains. This can take up to 10-14 working days or longer for a final report. The office staff of Mark P. Seraly, MD, PC and Associates will contact you with your test results as soon as they are received and reviewed by Dr. Seraly. For patients who need to return to the office for suture (stitches) removal, your biopsy report and additional treatment planning (if indicated) will be discussed during this office visit. Applicable co-payments are required.
